The "DuoAzzuro" was founded in 2010, when two young musicians Pierre AZZURO* (french horn) and Maryam ILYASOVA (piano), both students at the Musikhochschule Stuttgart, started playing together. Since then the "DuoAzzuro" has regularly performed in Germany, France (Festival "Musique au coeur des Baronnies le rendez-vous des jeunes artistes" - Nuit Romantique, Nuit Mozart and "Serres Classic Festival") and the Czech Republic and keeps exploring the chamber music repertoire ranging from classical to contemporary.

*Pierre AZZURO, principal horn of the Orchestra of Deutsche Oper Berlin was born in Marseille, France. He received his first horn lessons at the age of seven. Among his teachers in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, Montpellier and Paris were Eric Sombret and Hervé Joulain.
In 2006 Pierre came to Germany to study with Professor Wolfgang Gaag in Munich. From 2007 to 2010 he studied at the Musikhochschule Stuttgart with Professors Erich Penzel and Christian Lampert.
Pierre gained a rich orchestral experience with such orchestras as Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester, Bayerisches Staatsorchester Munich, Württembergisches Kammerorchester Heilbronn, Symphonica Toscanini and performed under the baton of Lorin Maazel, Georges Prêtre, Franz Welser-Möst, Jonathan Nott, Ingo Metzmacher and Antonio Pappano.
Pierre Azzuro received scholarships from the Gustav-Mahler-Academy in Ferrara, Italy and the foundation „Villa Musica” Rheinland-Pfalz and participated in master-classes with Hugh Seanan, Frøydis Ree Wekre and Christian Dallmann.
In the years 2010-2015 Pierre Azzuro was the co-principal horn of the Stuttgarter Philharmoniker. In 2014 he won the 2nd prize at the International Competition for Brass Instrument Ensembles in Passau, Germany with the brass quintet BlechMaschine.
